It’s amazing how much you can see once your eyes have been peeled. As I mentioned before, I’ve been studying a book called Marketing 101 by Donald Sexton. And in Chapter 7, “Understanding Your Organization’s Capabilities”, I began to think through and write down what my business could do best. When I finished, I had come up with my competitive edge. Some people call this the USP or Unique Selling Proposition.
Simply put, your USP is the difference in your business that always remains the same. This difference is generally caused by two things:
- What you can do best
- What your competitors fail to do best
I’ll give you an example.
