Want to Start Charging What You’re Worth? Here’s how…

2009 June 10

Service professionals will usually say one of four statements right before they undercharge.

  • “It’s not about the money…” or
  • “I hadn’t thought about it…” or even
  • “It’s on the house…”
  •  and let’s not forget the infamous “Uhhhh…”

Have you ever one of those statements aloud or in your head?  And let me guess…you probably thought that the client wouldn’t pay the price you’d quote to them.  Or maybe you didn’t have enough confidence in your ability? Or you felt guilty for charging them for something that you love to do?

While those statements temporarily relieve the pressure of stating your price, it leads to other problems.  You probably don’t have the time to do what you want.  Your bank account is on crutches (or even worse…life support).  Or you may be experiencing burnout.  This is exactly what can happen when you don’t charge enough for what you do.

I struggle with not charging what my services are worth.  In fact, my wife always tells me that I would have to charge astronomical prices just to cover the amount of discounts I want to give.  That’s why I sought out Tom Buford.

When I first met Tom, I was in the middle of a sticky situation.  I had promised to help a friend of a friend to write a grant.  After agreeing to help her, I found out that the grant proposal was due by the end of the next day.  I worked for hours without ever discussing money.  In fact, I put in about 12 hours on the grant and 4 on personal coaching without ever talking about pricing.  In the end, I charged her $375…for the writing and coaching.  I even threw in a second proposal because I felt guilty for charging her.  That’s when I knew it was time to seek help.

Tom’s Charge What You Deserve Mastery Program is for coaches, consultants and solo-preneurs looking to:

  • Enroll in a step-by step coaching program
  • Reverse the client chase
  • Attract more ideal clients
  • Implement complete business-building system

His fee-setting and pricing strategies will help you to feel comfortable charging what you’re worth, even in the current economy.  And most importantly, Tom walks the talk.  He’s implemented these fee-setting strategies into his own businesses.

What I like most about Tom’s program is his Simple Business Model.  I actually got a sneak peak of it a few months ago, and it’s awesome.  With his help, I was able to map out the steps of my upcoming Special Report.

I hope to one day build a 6-7 figure a year businesses.  And I know that Tom will help me.  But right now, I’m taking one step at a time.  And my first step is to get comfortable charging what I’m worth.

Check out Tom’s Mastery program.  No matter what your goal is, when you want to charge what you deserve, Tom is definitely the fee-setting go-to guy.
